WEAF, the premier trade association for South West’s Aerospace and Advanced Engineering is pleased to announce the launch of the ‘WE-Zero’ cluster. (West of England Zero emission cluster).
WEAF has formed WE-Zero to support the growing network of Zero emission technology clusters across the South West. WEAF directors, who included representatives from Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Safran, Leonardo and GKN Aerospace, recently agreed that WEAF’s activities provide a focal point for Zero emission technologies, alongside its traditional support for the Aerospace and Advanced Engineering clusters.
WE-Zero will support the growing community within the South West by enabling vital connection, collaboration, and alignment of action across the region. The WE-Zero cluster network will help reduce duplication and identify gaps in the development, deployment, and commercialisation of new Zero Emissions-focused technologies.
Commenting on the launch, WEAF CEO Colin Turner stated: “Climate Change will drive significant change in aerospace and associated sectors. The South West is a world leading R&D powerhouse in aerospace and engineering. By launching the WE-Zero cluster WEAF is using its resources to support the continuing development of South West’s high value design and manufacturing community.”
