Visitors to Starrag’s stand (hall 20, stand 563) at this year’s MACH 2022 event, held at the NEC Birmingham show from 4-8^th April will learn how its Ecospeed machining centre is the latest in a line of machines now featured in Starrag’s new Aerospace Competence Centre in Switzerland.

With traverse rates of 50m/min, the Ecospeed is renowned for its high aluminium removal rates of up to 12 litres/min and provides a highly productive way to produce complex aluminium structural parts.

Starrag says its Aerospace Competence Centre has been enhanced to showcase a selection of machines and their capabilities, as well as the accompanying technologies required for the machining of aerospace components.

Interested visitors can also learn about the company’s latest machines – particularly Bumotec’s new cost-effective 191neo mill-turn centre for small, complex parts – and at how Starrag’s ‘Engineering precisely what you value’ slogan continues to help companies achieve significant bottom-line rewards when using machines of Starrag’s Berthiez, Bumotec, Dörries, Droop+Rein, Ecospeed, Heckert, Scharmann, SIP and Starrag product ranges.

For example, the new 7-axis Bumotec 191neo can accommodate bar of 42mm, 50mm and 65mm diameter, and with up to 90 tools and intuitive HMI control system the machine will enable users to achieve a new standard in cost-per-parts for high added-value small components produced in a single set-up.

Another recent example of how Starrag’s success has been built on providing machining solutions for specific market demands is the Heckert H65 machining centre. Launched last summer, Starrag’s new Heckert H65 compact horizontal machining centre adds a new dimension to heavy-duty 4-axis machining. Occupying just 24m², the H65 offers machining speeds up to 30% faster than comparable models and can increase output levels by 80%.

With X, Y and Z axes of 850mm x 1,020mm x 1,000mm and 630mm x 500mm twin pallets each able to accommodate loads of 1.5 tonnes (with a pallet-change time of 13 secs), this latest addition to Heckert’s compact H range of machining centres provides traverse rates up to 80m/min and a standard spindle speed of up to 10,000rpm from its 60kW/450Nm HSK-A100 spindle.
