Bell's V-280 Valor is a next generation tiltrotor aircraft proposed for the US Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) programme.
Based on the agreement, Safran Landing Systems will develop and manufacture a fully integrated landing gear system consisting of the main landing gear, tail landing gear, wheels and brakes, extension/retraction system, steering system, brake control system and indication sensors.
The development, test and manufacturing activities will be conducted in four Safran Landing Systems sites in North America and Europe. The primary management of this programme will be based in the company's facility in Ajax, Ontario, Canada.
"Safran Landing Systems is honored to be part of this programme," says Florence Minisclou, Executive VP Customer Directorate, Safran Landing Systems. "Since 2018, we have been a committed supporter of this programme by developing and proposing the state-of-the art design and analysis for the new V-280. We are glad that our efforts resulted in this collaboration."
As a Team Valor member, Safran Landing Systems brings more than 80 years of expertise in Landing Gear and Braking systems. Additionally, the company has 38 years of experience in the tiltrotor market through developing, manufacturing and supporting Bell's V-22 Osprey.
