Denroy Plastics receives fourth consecutive SC21 gold award

Denroy Plastics has received their fourth consecutive gold performance award as part of the 21st Century Supply Chains (SC21) Operational Excellence (OE) programme.

SC21 is a programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence sector by raising the performance of its supply chains. The SC21 OE programme is coordinated and governed by ADS, the UK trade association for the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors.

Denroy Plastics is a subsidiary of the Denroy Group which was formed in 1972 by the Rainey family following the purchase of Ulster Plastics. Today the group remains a family-owned business and consists of Denroy Group, DPL, Denman International and Denman.

Operating from the Balloo Industrial Estate in Bangor, Denroy Plastics is a design and contract manufacturing business specialising in the precision plastics injection moulding industry.

ADS Northern Ireland director, Leslie Orr said: “Congratulations to Denroy Plastics, your continuous commitment to the SC21 OE programme has made you the first Northern Ireland aerospace company to receive its fourth consecutive gold award. Your entire team should be congratulated for their continuous hard work and commitment, particularly over the last 18 months. Northern Ireland aerospace is a leading region in the United Kingdom for supply chain excellence and it is companies like Denroy Plastics that make outstanding contributions that are nationally recognised through programmes like SC21. We look forward to your participation in the SC21 Competitiveness and Growth programme.”

Denroy Plastics, managing director, John Irwin added: “We are delighted to have been able to maintain our SC21 OE Gold for a fourth year. It has been a companywide team effort with SC21 now firmly integrated into the culture in Denroy and, indeed, we are looking forward to our participation in SC21 C&G to further develop our process excellence. Whilst the last 18 months have been challenging for us all, SC21 OE has been key to successfully navigating through and positioning us strongly for future opportunities in the aerospace and defence sectors. In addition, we have maintained our commitment to innovation, developing unique technologies aligned with UK strategy for carbon emission reductions. We are looking forward to a bright future in these great sectors.”

Denroy Plastics first engaged with SC21 in July 2011 and achieved Bronze level in 2012, Silver level in 2014, 2015, 2016 and Gold level in 2018, 2019, 2020 and now 2021, demonstrating continuous commitment to supply chain excellence.
