Show floor features announced for Advanced Engineering 2018

Advanced Engineering 2018 has announced show floor features, approved by Airbus and Jaguar Land Rover at the UK's largest annual gathering of engineering professionals.

Visitors can experience a variety of cutting-edge technology and materials during the two day exhibition from exhibitors globally. The show floor features will be in various locations around the different zones, including:

The Prion Mk3

In the composites features area is the Prion Mk3. The Prion Mk3 has a flight endurance in excess of 1000km or greater than 12 hours airborne before landing to re-fuel. Within the civilian marketplace, this flight endurance sets aside the Prion Mk3 UAV platform as a unique offering with proven versatile payload options. So far, only military equipment is routinely flown with an endurance profile exceeding that of the Prion Mk3.

Juno- Graphene in Aerospace

Juno is a 3.5m wingspan Graphene skinned aircraft and is the latest aircraft in the pathway to the application of Graphene in the aerospace industry. Juno will be on display in the Aero feature area.

BARO Autonomous Vehicle Platform

Founded in 2015, BARO Vehicles design connected & autonomous compact vehicles. Their first product BARO One is a high technology electric self-driving car with level 3 autonomy suitable for use on private land, offering unprecedented levels of technology, design and comfort. Visit BARO One in the automotive features area of the exhibition.

SmartDS Mixed Reality software to be used with Microsoft HoloLens for innovative engineering projects.

HoloLens is a holographic computer built into a headset that lets you see, hear, and interact with holograms within an environment such as a living room or an office space. Microsoft has built the headset without the need to be wirelessly connected to a PC and has used high-definition lenses and spatial sound technology to create an immersive, interactive holographic experience. Visit the innovative headset in the connected feature area of the exhibition.

Another part of the show is the Innovation zone, which gives an opportunity for selected exhibitors to showcase their most innovative products this year. Companies such as Nikon Metrology UK, RVmagnetics and Transcend will be exhibiting their innovations, including Nikon’s handheld laser scanner, Dedienne Multiplasturgy Group’s device to create a localised magnetic field and Technifast’s inserts to assist in Team Britannia’s round the world attempt.

Alison Willis, industrial divisional director at Easyfairs, the organisers of Advanced Engineering 2018, said: “We’re greatly looking forward to this year’s exhibition. With a splendid line up of show floor features, innovations and intriguing keynote speakers, it will be a wonderful display of the top products from the industry.

“For 2018, the show floor features are largely focused on innovative transport designs for the rail, automotive and aerospace sectors. The features are exciting as they truly show how the engineering sector is growing.”

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the show is set for two days of inspiring features and exhibitions, bringing together over 500 companies all looking to source, specify and invest in the most up-to-date products and explore the latest industry innovations.

Advanced Engineering 2018 takes place on 31 October and 1 November in halls 2, 3 and 3a at the NEC.
